We have decided not to compete in Alma this spring, but rather continue our preparation for the Ontario circuit leading up to Maxville and the World's. The primary factor in making this decision was to give our new lead tip the time he needs to settle into his new role. Allowing him only three weeks to prepare would not be fair to Drew or the corps.

We are also pleased that Jamie and Jacquie Troy have decided to remain with the band, contrary to speculation that they would leave, given the change in our lead tip. Welcome back Jamie and Jacquie!

John Fisher has resigned from the band. Citing unsustainable impacts on his ability to continue with his self employed status as a drumming instructor, and the problems presented by geography, John has made the decision that he cannot continue as the band's lead drummer.

We are delighted to have Drew Duthart accept the position of lead drummer. Drew's talents are recognised throughout the pipe band world, and we are looking forward to a wonderful future with him at the helm. He has a long and successful career as lead drummer with the Toronto Police band, leading them to several North American Championships. As well, his pedigree as the son of the godfather of all pipe band drummers is unassailable. He is a player with prodigious talent, and the Frasers should go from strength to strength with Drew as lead drummer.
